BRAMPTON - An elderly man walking on a sidewalk in the city's west end was hit by a car and forced through a brick wall Wednesday morning, Peel police report.
Darshan Singh, 74, was rushed to a Toronto trauma centre with serious injuries after the 9:30 a.m. crash.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward. It happened on Pertosa Drive north of Williams Parkway in the area of Bovaird Drive and Chinguacousy Road. A 28-year-old Brampton woman was driving a grey 2004 Toyota Camry north on Pertosa when, for reasons that are still under investigation, she lost control and mounted the east curb.
The car hit Singh, and pushed him through the brick wall of a nearby plaza, according to police reports.
