BRAMPTON - Peel Regional Police are still hunting for one of two men wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for the Sept. 11 shooting death of a Brampton dad.
Sawaran Singh Sekhon, 40, is wanted for second-degree murder in the death of Devinder Singh Gill, 33, who was shot in his own Castlehill Road basement around 4 a.m. during a get-together.
Gill was rushed to hospital, but died later in the day. He left behind a wife, who was nine months pregnant at the time, and two young daughters.
Police say they believe Sekhon has not fled the country.
“We believe he’s still around,” said Peel homicide Insp. Norm English.
Sekhon is described as a South Asian male, 6-foot, 200 pounds, with a medium build and dark hair. He has a heavy Punjabi accent and speaks English poorly.
Police are urging Sekhon to contact a lawyer and arrange to turn himself in.
A second suspect, Gurmit Singh Randhawa, 27, was arrested without incident in Mississauga last month. He is also charged with second-degree murder.
Anyone who knows Sekhon’s whereabouts is urged to call police at 905-453-3311, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
