BRAMPTON - A man working in a trench Saturday morning required an emergency rescue after dirt collapsed and buried him up to his neck.
The trench on Finsbury Drive in Brampton is reported to be about 7 to 8 feet deep.
The call for help came in at roughly 11:45 a.m., and Peel police and Brampton fire crews responded, said Peel police Cst. Jodi Dawson.
Firefighters conducted the rescue, and the worker was transported to Brampton Civic Hospital where he remains in stable condition. He is said to have escaped with non-life threatening injuries.
Dawson reported the Ministry of Labour will be taking over the investigation.
