Region plans series of events to mark Salute to Small Business

BRAMPTON - Each year, the Ontario Ministry of Small Business and Consumer Services promotes Salute to Small Business to recognize the contributions of small enterprises to the Ontario economy.
Halton Region, which provides small business resources as part of the Ministry’s Small Business Enterprise Centre (SBEC) network, proudly supports Salute to Small Business month by offering our annual Bridges to Better Business — Mind Your e-Business event.
On October 2, keynote speaker Eric Gales, vice-president Midmarket Solutions & Partners at Microsoft Canada, will be on hand to talk about how small businesses across the region can use technology to drive their growth.
This event will be held at the Burlington Convention Centre, 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $65 per person.
In addition, here is a look at some other learning and networking opportunities for business owners across Halton.
• Oct. 1: Innovation Night - Sharing Ideas and Making Connections; 7 p.m. at Slainte Irish Pub (upstairs) 33 Bowen Street, Hamilton
• Oct. 9: Canada Border Services Agency: The New Importer Seminar, 1-4 p.m. at the Halton Regional Centre. There is no fee for this seminar.
• Nov. 5: Bookkeeping 101, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Halton Hills Public Library, Georgetown Branch. The cost is $20 per person.
• Nov. 11: Break the Rules and Add More Contacts, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Halton Hills Public Library, Georgetown Branch. The cost is $20 per person.
• Nov. 19: Market Research, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Halton Hills Public Library, Georgetown Branch. The cost is $20 per person.
• Dec. 2: PST - GST/HST Seminar, 1-3 p.m. at Halton Regional Centre, South Auditorium. There is no fee for this seminar.
