Artist explores spatial play with wood

BRAMPTON - Organic and abstract are two words that would aptly describe Mississauga artist Ryszard Litwiniuk’s exhibit at Peel Heritage Complex Art Gallery of Peel until Oct. 26.

Using reclaimed stumps of wood, Litwiniuk draws from the naturally occurring patterns in the wood to create his sculptures. He explores spatial play, and in essence liberates the wood within, creating fascinating geometric sculptures.

The artist will utilize the grounds of the Peel Heritage Complex for the exhibition and also show a series of transparent skin prints similar in appearance to the linear whorls in the wood of his sculptures.
