BRAMPTON - Brampton Senior Games co-ordinator, June Gallagher, is pleased to report that more than 500 older adults participated in 20 events (15 sanctioned)from mid April to the end of May.
Awards for gold, silver and bronze winners were well attended— gold medal winners of the 15 sanctioned events are now eligible to compete at the Ontario Senior Games (Actifest)in London Aug. 12, 13 and 14.
Actifest, held every second even numbered year, brings together winners from 40 districts across Ontario. We wish them good luck in their quest for medals.
In recognition of Senior's Month, the City of Brampton hosted a lively afternoon of fun last week— thanks from all those who attended.
Activities continue at most recreation centres throughout the summer including beach bocce (Tuesday and Thursday) and horseshoes (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) at Flowercity, dancing at Snelgrove (July 31 and Aug. 28) and summer barbecues (July 11 and 25, Aug. 8 and 22).
For further information on these and other events at Gage Park and elsewhere, contact Sharon Bonello at 905-874-3500.

Lunchtime outdoor summer concerts take place downtown each Thursday and some Tuesdays (noon to 2 p.m.) on the Rose Theatre's Central Fountain Stage.
