BRAMPTON - Drunk driving is the suspected cause of a single-vehicle crash that killed a young Brampton man and severely injured another on The Gore Road last Friday night, Peel police report.

Keith Ramdahin, 24, a passenger in the car, was rushed to a Toronto hospital where he died.

He was in the front passenger's seat of an Acura 3.2 TL that was being driven north on The Gore Road near Don Minaker Drive just after 10:30 p.m., according to police. Investigators allege the driver lost control, left the road and hit a brick fence.

The impact was severe enough to rip the engine out of the vehicle, according to police.

A 19-year-old in the rear seat suffered serious head injuries and he was also rushed to hospital.

The driver, Annaz Ahmad, 23, of Brampton suffered minor injuries.

He faces several charges, including impaired driving causing death and dangerous driving causing death.
