BRAMPTON - After decades of entertaining men and women on an intimate level, Brampton's "sexiest" landmark has closed its doors.
Adult entertainment venue Sword and Shield, whose neon lights illuminated 260 Queen St., East for years, has hosted its last exotic dance— at least for now.
The property was sold off recently and the new owner, Nick Dhaliwal, said it is currently closed for renovations.
When asked if he plans to continue using the place as an adult entertainment complex Dhaliwal abruptly responded "I don't know."
Foxxes Den, a club catering to female tastes, also operated out of the Queen Street location for years and has since relocated to a new venue along The Queensway in Etobicoke.
The city has big plans for that stretch of Queen Street, from the Four Corners going east, and any new business setting up shop is looked at with keen interest.
Construction is gearing up on at least two new condominiums within a few blocks of the now defunct strip bar.
The Queen Street corridor is being singled out as vital to a revitalized commercial centre, and word is the city's business community has got it collective fingers crossed that the property will be used for something a little more G-Rated.
The building also housed the Motor Hotel and work on several rooms is said to have already begun.
