Mississauga – The employees of the buildings surrounding a Methamphetamine lab in Mississauga will continue to be denied access to their places of employment for an undetermined period of time.
On Tuesday, April 29, 2008, the Toronto Police Service, assisted by the Peel Regional Police Service, executed a drug-related search warrant at an industrial unit at 1645 Sismet Road in Mississauga.
The efforts in dismantling this lab are still ongoing. At this time, the chemicals which are still present within the building still pose a significant danger.
As a result, the Peel Regional Police will continue to be denying access to the affected buildings as the safety of the citizens in and around cannot be assured.
We continue to appreciate the cooperation provided by the affected citizens. Investigators hope to have the scene secured and safe by no earlier than Monday of next week. Should this timeline be altered, another news release will be issued in advance.
