The Brampton Guardian

BRAMPTON -

Mississauga – Peel Regional Police would like to remind everyone that when outdoors, it is always a good practice to keep a close watch over children and family pets so as to ensure that they do not come into contact with any harmful objects or foods.

On Tuesday, July 22, 2008, Peel Regional Police were advised by a citizen that some suspicious meat had been found at the Tobias Mason Park, in the City of Mississauga. The meat was seized by police and has been sent to the Centre of Forensic Sciences for examination. The investigation is continuing, pending the results of the testing.

After an extensive search by members of the Peel Regional Police and City of Mississauga Park staff, it has been determined that Tobias Mason Park is safe for use. No further findings of suspicious meat were located during the search. As a result, the park has been completely reopened.

At this point investigators cannot conclusively link this incident to the suspicious meat found at Erin Woods Park, Mississauga, on Thursday July 17, 2008.

Investigators from 11 Division’s Criminal Investigation Bureau would ask that any witnesses to this incident, or anyone with information on this matter, please contact officers at (905) 453-2121, ext. 1133. Information can also be provided anonymously through Peel Crime Stoppers, 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
